Lowes

Recommended Posts

I sent an email to the corporate offices of both Home Depot and Lowes. Home Depot replied that they give discounts to Active Military only two days per year, but they do not give the disabled veteran any discounts. Lowes replied that they give a 10% discount to Active Military but they do not give the disabled veteran any discouts. I would suggest that anyone who is getting a discount from either of these stores should probably keep it under their hat because it is just the local manager who is doing it and you don't want the corporate officers to find out.

:D

I would also like to say that Apple Bees is giving a free meal to all veterans on November 11, 2009 for the Veterans Day :)

I have gotten the discounts at Lowes and Home Depot by showing my Military ID Card that I got for being 100%

Dallas Texas. Home Depot only gives the 10% Memorial Day and Veterans Day

During the past year I have been in Lowes stores in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland and Florida. I have never been refused the 10% military discount. I just show my retired ID card, the cashier calls for an over ride and away I go. I love it.

I can see Home Depot from my house and Lowes is a couple of miles down the road. I go to Lowes 99% of the time.

Commenting on Lowes, I have no problems getting the 10% discount. Before I got my 100% card I just showed them my VA card. Now what's a trick is getting the VA discount and farm tax exempt at the same time. You have to explain to them that the tax exempt status is not a store discount and does not come off their sales receipt, their for, there's no real duality. ,

Here in Alabama, I have received the military/Veteran 10% discount at every store I visited. Usually, I just show my VA ID. At one store close to town, they refused, saying that because my VA ID says 'service connected' only, it does not say I am a disabled Veteran. I quickly resolved the issue by showing the letter saying I am 70% disabled. I do not keep the award letter in my car, but instead went to the local VA service office. I presented them with my award letter and they typed up a letter I keep in my glove box.

Lowe's always gives me 10% discount with Military ID Card in my hometown. Even if the item is on sale I still get the discount. I normally wear a vet hat & forget to ask & have been reminded by clerks about the discount. Bought a ShopVac (6 Gal-$44.95) for $19.97 & got $2.00 (10%) off for net $17.97 + tax. Acually got two for $38.46
