Post a clear title like ‘Need help preparing PTSD claim’ or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery”instead of ‘I have a question.
Knowledgeable people who don’t have time to read all posts may skip yours if your need isn’t clear in the title.
I don’t read all posts every login and will gravitate towards those I have more info on.
Use paragraphs instead of one massive, rambling introduction or story.
Again – You want to make it easy for others to help. If your question is buried in a monster paragraph, there are fewer who will investigate to dig it out.
Leading too:
Post straightforward questions and then post background information.
Examples:
Question A. I was previously denied for apnea – Should I refile a claim?
Adding Background information in your post will help members understand what information you are looking for so they can assist you in finding it.
Rephrase the question: I was diagnosed with apnea in service and received a CPAP machine, but the claim was denied in 2008. Should I refile?
Question B. I may have PTSD- how can I be sure?
See how the details below give us a better understanding of what you’re claiming.
Rephrase the question: I was involved in a traumatic incident on base in 1974 and have had nightmares ever since, but I did not go to mental health while enlisted. How can I get help?
This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial of your claim?”

Most Common VA Disabilities Claimed for Compensation:
You’ve just been rated 100% disabled by the Veterans Affairs. After the excitement of finally having the rating you deserve wears off, you start asking questions. One of the first questions that you might ask is this: It’s a legitimate question – rare is the Veteran that finds themselves sitting on the couch eating bon-bons …Continue reading
OK, I was just awarded 100% P & T in march of 2009. I got A letter in the mail from VA stating they were sending me for C & P exams for Hypertension, Migraines and cervical spine injury which I filed for in 2004 denied in 2005 and sent in a NOD in 2005 and did not get the SOC until 2006 and I filed a form 9 in 2006. I had a hearing in 2008 but these three issues were lost but the BVA said they were never really processed and remanded them back to the local VA to process. I just had my C & P's today and to my surprise my whole file was there all seven volumes and it looked like the doctor reviewed them. I was/am thinking what the heck is going on. Instead of me explaining my daily symptoms, he asked me how would I rate them, you know none, mild, moderate or severe. I told him it was hard because it depends on so many things like, how I slept, did I have to do chores, did I take my meds. in time but he just asked me to do my best. You know with HBP you can still function really well, but with my migraines and my back pain is a different story. He was talking to me like they were already SC and he said that he understood that HBP could cause my migraines. I can't wait until I get a copy of this report to find out what he really typed in for the answers. Really don't know if it's good or bad. The Last C & P doctor told me that he could not determine an out come but wrote in the C & P exams that he did not "think" they could be service related. migraines and hypertension are secondary but the spine was injured in service and I keep aggravating it. But we will see we will see
