How To Say You're Unemployed?

What do you say? Unemployed? Disabled? Retired? On government assistance? Government aid? Just wondering how to say it without saying it. What's a neutral friendly response?

Uncle Harvey left me and the kids a bunch of money. I guess if he had not done so I would have to work, but I doubt I could because when people start discussing personal issues with me I get this strange blink in my right eye and blackout for a couple of hours. I try my hardest to recall what goes on during this period but for the life of me I can't. It scares me sometimes cause when I regain my mind I find blood on my hands.

It works, word gets around and you probably won't have to worry about others going into that area of your life. Have a good one my friend

I just say that I made some sacrifices and wise investments and now I am attending college. I think that is the truth for the most of us Right?

I noticed on a few of my bank receipts it states that I am military retired. Some times I go in the bank and they ask for a form of ID and I just give them my MWR card and they see indef and write down military retired. I agree with jbasser, pete53 and navydoc2, once you get to the point of being paid for IU/P&T and or SS, VA and SS are saying that you are being paid for disability retirement. Just leave off the disability part, you really don't want people in your business anyway.
