Question

Good morning hadit brothers and sisters, I am trying to help a vet get some VA disability for his eyes. He has been retired for 18 years and says when he talked to someone about his eyes they said he would not get any disability and that is where he stopped......... Not even sure who it was who he talked to, but probably a sea lawyer at the VFW. I am asking for someone's help who may have knowledge in this area as I have none. He had each eye operated on and I believe he is corrected to 20/40 in one and 20/25 in the other. I checked his entrance exam and he was reported to have 20/20 vision. He was an air traffic controller in the navy. After the operations, he received a waiver and was allowed to control in a dark radar room, but was not cleared to control aircraft from the control tower. He said it affects his depth perception the most. This definitely had a negative impact on his potential for employment in the civilian world with the FAA. I see in some of his medical reports (those that I could read the Drs notes) that he had bilateral detached retinas. He is now diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. He is a vietnam era vet, but did not spend any time in the war zone.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
