Question

My friend got out of the army Jan 27th, 1961. The VA sent him a letter saying the vietnam war did not start until Feb 28, 1961 which could be very true. This puts him out of the military 29 days before the vietnam war started. When we look on the internet we see several different dates of when vietnam really started.
The reason this is so important is he is applying for aid and attendance.
I know that you are the smarted people on the internet when it comes to these types of questions.
So when did the vietnam war really start and is Feb 28, 1961 the correct date. If it is correct he won't appeal but if its not correct he will appeal. We respect your answers.
Thank you
Kris
