Received Comp & Pen Appointments

Hello, everyone,

I hope someone can help me out. I received a letter from the Syracuse NY VAMC yesterday inviting me to attend 4 compensation and pension appointments in the next few weeks. One of them was for the audiology clinic, so that is pretty easy to figure out. Two of the appointments just show "SY-COMP DOROTHY CHAMPNEY Clinic", and one reflects an appointment with "SY-CALL GAOD NC Clinic". The instructions state that I should bring "pertinent lab or x-ray reports performed outside the VA system", but nowhere is there any indication of what they may be looking at. I know I can call them tomorrow and, perhaps, find some answers, but I just wonder if anyone here knows what these clinics may be.

I did a google search, and could find nothing on GAOD, but did find a Dorothy Champney who is listed as a nurse practicioner.

I would do this:

Call the number to the VA.

Ask for the Comp and Pension department.

I would explain th at you have some exams scheduled and you would like to know what they are for. Write their answer down.

Afer they answer print the exam criteria off of the site to help you as in a road map. They can be found here :http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/21/Benefits/exams/index.htm
