hypertension Letter From Qtc

I received a letter from QTC today and say that I need to contact my physician regarding the findings of my chest x-rays and EKG from my C&P exam. Is this a routine letter, or should I worry that they found something unusual? (I'm claiming heart disease/heart bypass surgery secondary to SC hypertension.) Has anyone else out there received such a letter?

They send the letter as a disclaimer so that they can not be sued. The will send a letter if your blood pressure is high. What you need to do is get a copy of the C&P exam. After you get a copy of the exam take it to your Dr and he can explain the findings. If there is anything to be concerned about he will address it.

By coincidence, I already had an appointment scheduled with my cardiologist. I had a CT scan performed today. I guess I'll find out soon what's going on in my chest.

As for requesting a copy of the C&P exam findings from the VA -- won't that slow down my claim processing? I'm hoping that they wrap things up pretty soon; they have everything that they need. I'm afraid that if I contact the VA about getting a copy of the C&P exam, they will take my file and sit it in a large pile full of other records requests.

The QTC exam can be printed out without them having to pull your file. It is sent to the regional office via computer.

Thanks for your help. I think I'll still give the VA a week or two to see if they can wrap things up with my claim before I call them about the C&P exam. In the meantime, I'm aggressively seeking treatment from my cardiologist.
