I have a question regarding how the VA decides on when your comp starts.

Example : you file a claim on July 22 nd, and in Dec you get a favorable decision.Would

start August 1 st or October 1st

The effective date is supposed to be the date you filed and than skip the next month and first payment on your scenario would be Sep 1

As "J" and Pete say, it starts on 8/1 but since the VA pays after the month has past, the first monthly payment will start on 9/1.

Thanks for the info, I have a rating according to

my VSO but until I have the paper in my cold , alive hand I will

not post the decision .
