Tinnitus Conceded ?

I have heard both sides to this question from a couple of vets at the VA. I was told by one that if you have verifiable combat service ,then they will award an automatic 10 % sc .The other side was of course , c&p and medical evidence then rate or deny.

Anybody have the right skinny on this.

Today, in the mail, I was denied a rating for the tinnitus although it was conceded that being an FMF Corpsman caused acoustic trauma by exposure to to gunfire, etc. It was not noted in my military health record, but they also say they cannot find the records for my last deployment. Strange.
