ptsd Still Waiting, Any Advise?

My claim for IU for PTSD has been completed and sitting at the rating board since December, 17, 09 and the claim was originally filed March 09. Have had two c&P exams during this time and other exam for tinnitus and eyes.

Is there any real hope this thing will be decided any time soon??

I feel there is always hope, but be realistic - waiting kills and thinking about something else is better. That is the way I managed to endure my six years.

Try to have a valuable life while the process is going on beyond your reach.

Dec is a bad month to get anything from VA with all the Vacation, Xmas and other things. I suspect that you will hear before to long. My guess is late this month or Feb.

You have to have hope and hang in there you are very close now.

all great advice. i too am waiting on a decision for tdiu. at the rating board since nov. these folks are absolutely right the wait can eat you up. and the holiday season is sure to not help. hopefully we all hear soon. and though it is hard hang in there. were soldiers we can wait,,, erico

wow seems to be alot of waiting i waited over a year for a a second C&P and now begin the wait for a decision. I try and ignore the time as it goes by but the best advise i can say is find something to do that does not mark the time.

keep the faith its no worse than the lines you had to wait in in Basic Training. Hurry up an wait soldier on. :(

Hey John1,

The fact that they have given you two C&P exams over the last 10 months means that your claim is being looked at. My SC claim started in May of 2004 and after my C&P in Sept 09, I was granted SC the second week of December 09.So Once they start looking at it, the decision can come fairly quick. I would not be suprised if you heard something in the near future. No one likes the "WAIT". Think of as a test and eventhough you haven't got a decision yet, make plans for your next move if you win or if you loose. I'm not trying to put a negative spin on it, I just like to have a plan B for all situations. Hope this helped, and good luck!

There's a possibility for a remand but keep the spirit alive and I would invest in a good novel for now.

Might be another month or so.
