Va Beat Me Down, Time To Limp Away And Move On

Question

Thanks you to everyone for their support and ideas. The time has come to stop the addiction to the forums. My review claim was denied when I know it should have been approved. Good Grief, it should have been a no brainer. I have been prescribed a brace to support a malunion of my tib-fib on a SC ankle. I had all the medical records to support the claim. They say my ankle is stable enough not to need a brace even though it was prescribed by both a pediotrist and Ortho Dr. I don't have it in me to file an appeal and let this drag on for years and years. They beat me down and I need to limp away before I go nuts. Thanks everyone.

A tip that many Veterans are not aware of and that is if any medication that is prescribed can stain clothing the Veteran is entitled to the clothing allowance. Vets with open sores that use anti biotics that can cause a stain would count. Also some of the creams qualify also.

Hope that this helps a Veteran

Another point I forgot to mention. I am required to wear a custom made brace for my ankle (Arizona Brace) and use a cane due to the malunion. I understand that malunion is not a nonunion as described in diagnostic code 5262.

Don't worry overmuch about what VA says... I too wear VA authorized Custom fitted braces and same for shoe inserts. I wore all of the above to my last C&P and they said I had neither braces nor inserts. They actually did acknowledge I was using a cane.*

* A tip here. Get your VA to issue you a cane if you have not. That tacitly implies you actually need one. I had an earlier C&P note that though I used a cane, VA had not seen fit to authorize one calling into question whether or not I actually needed it!

Just note what VA says in denial and disagree and bury them in rebutting documentation. You will eventually succeed. Remember, all the delay just means a fatter retro at the end. B)

When you go to an appointment they usually comment on how you come in like if you are using a cane, crutches, rollator or a wheel chair.

The torment may come from the injustice, and the pain underscores the issue. I appreciate the feeling of just wanting to let it go and writing it off as a bad debt. If it could only be that easy. Freedom is elusive, and the cure is seeing it through to the end. I wish you peace.

I fully understand why you want to quit. It is obvious for those that wish to see.

But, while serving and going thru all the crap in RVN, mud, rain, swap, jungle, and the mountains up North in the red clay.....

I got an education.....

remember the Ad on TV.. "Got Milk? " what you " GOT "

Sitting on your butt gets you nothing, fight for it. I did more than just hope I'd survive and my buddies also used everything...... the body count was high, but we won.... 40 years plus later I fight everyday to survive....

If you've not been there, you ought to get real, and not let anyone run over you...

Never Give Up

Never Surrender
