While waiting for my letter, if there is a competency issue, will they hold the retro pay until that is resolved and do they also the increase until such time also??

John, if the examiner or your doctor has in your records that you're incompetent to handle finances then the VA will hold your retro pay. I'm not sure if they will hold your monthly pay. I don't think they would though, just the retro but not totally sure

They may hold it all until a designated beneficary can be named.

If you have to have one pick someone that you can trust. The VA does not have a good track record on this issue.
