Granted Tdiu

Question

hello, I know I'm new here but I just wanted to let everyone know I was granted TDIU. I got the big brown envelope last Friday. I put in my TDIU claim last June after i was approved for social security. man, this took 8 long months. The VA moves so slow.

It says I have chapter 35 benefits. What is this and does this mean anything?

the letter also says I have "no future exams." Is this good?

What other benefits do I have and how much will I get every month with TDIU?

should I appeal for higher rating?

thanks

could i do voc rehab now since i'm TDIU or not? Maybe I can try and see but I really want to do something like school.

I love taking classes at the local college. If college is too trying on my PTSD can I drop out?

I was also thinking about volunteering at a local charity. It would be very light volunteer work but I think it would help keep my mind busy. you all might know depression has a way of sneaking in the brain when it's stalled.

I will sneak in for answers in the morning.

good nite

Whoops, you changed the spelling, good for you

your not a Marine anymore ?

Well, I know many thousand honorable dicharged Marines that may most certainly disagree with you on that..

There is a term Marines use, or maybe us old guys have a better feeling of our Branch than others....

Pride of our service branch.

My best friend is much like you, and I pity him for not realizing his efforts of yesterday, and being proud..

Also, I looked on my SRB my CAR was awarded July 1969, Thought for sure I had it a year or so earlier

Keeping my record intact, of being wrong...

I got my retro this morning and it's huge. I didn't realise that I would get so much. I've never had this much money in my account. All the jobs i've had in the past were just medial stuff and mostly part-time.

Hard to imagine that my monthy income now will be about twice as much as i've ever got working. WOW, and is any of itk taxible?

I get SSD which is 1300 month and TDIU which will be around 2700 month. I feel rich.

Praise the lord

desertstormvet,

A huge congrats to you.

Spend all that retro money wisely as this does not come around very often.

It is refreshing to see someones claim get granted and they actually

express appreciation for it.

What was you service connected (SC)level prior to this? Rating Decision ?

Were you at least 30 % SC'd prior to this and getting additional

compensation for your dependents.

I will provide information on adoption after you answer this.

I don't have any children. I think i'm 80% before i just got this. It was around 1400 month. I want to get my act together and adopt a child. my girl can't have children because of her medical reasons but I would like to adopt after i get my drinking under control. Not now.

I'm a messy drunk right now and need help.

i know a lot of my fellow vet friends would look down on me getting what I have and being an alcoholic so I don't tell anyone except here what I get. Is this good that I keep my vet benefits a secret. I'm a very secretive person.

My problem with AA meetings is i'm always getting questions about what I do for a living and it always hits me the wrong way. These other drunks just want something to gossip about and I know they would get jeolous. I've seen how they act to others that spilled their guts.
