Ptsd And High Blood Pressure

Question

Hello I know it is logical but would PTSD affect a persons Blood pressure? I had a guy in my group the other night who is SC for PTSD and he said he got his Hypertension connected to his PTSD. Any Ideas of if this is logical? I know that if something that is not SC and it agrivates a SC condition it is rated as if the Non SC were SC. Am I right on this? Have a good day I was wondering if anyone had heard of it.

oldman,

Yes - if your docs word it right, hypertension can be SC'd secondary

to another SC'd condition such as PTSD or anxiety on a secondary basis.

Here is a BVA example for you - keep in mind that in this specific case VBA

also considered the BOD.

http://www4.va.gov/vetapp10/files1/1004266.txt

It is of utmost importance that the docs refer SPECIFICALLY to YOUR

hypertension as it relates to YOUR ptsd and not limit their opinion to

just medical treaties in general.

There maybe some medical treaties that would help support their medical rationale,

BUT - their opinion needs to relate specifically to you and your conditions so they

can provide a nexus of the secondary condition (hypertension) specific to you.

jmho,

carlie
