Ordinarily I would say no that it is not likely that you could catch Gulf War illness from other people, but I wonder if it can be caught from equipment that was exposed to the gulf region at the time of the conflict. Even if the equipment was cleaned it could not be sterilized. If you could find out if what you were flying and wearing had been exposed it is quite possible.
