Question

Hello,

I retired about 7 month ago from the Army. I served for 20 years. I joined right out of high school. After a C&P my rating went from 30% for other stuff to 100% for PTSD. I have not worked since I retired. In my paperwork form VA the Doctor states " there is evidence of total occupation and social impairment due to symtoms as yada yada yada". It also states entitlement to IU is a moot point.

I am new to all of this and not sure what I should do.

Should I submitt for SSDI?

Thank you for any in point

Yes apply for Social Security and use date you last worked to establish your benefits.

Yep- apply for SSA-

AND did you get ample info on CRSC /CRDP at the muster out briefings? (Transition briefings?)

You could be eligible for one of these benefit programs.

All of your military time will count for SSDI benefits.

Thanks for that long period of service!

When I applied, I went to my local office to apply in person. They were nice and helped my get my claim started.

Maybe you will get approved right off the bat but I was denied so I hired a GOOD SSD laywer and had to go before a Judge. Long story short, two year wait. Made for a rather large retro check.

I would reccomend you read over the postings in the SSD thread. A lot of information to be had there. Good luck. Terry
