I think they stopped signing these c&p exams due to fear, so I don't really think it matters. They get around it somehow. Same things has happened to me. Maybe someone has better handle on that question. The doctor may be afraid you will come look him up one day.

All C&P exams by regs in M21-1MR are required to be signed. How they get around it is to use the "elecronic signature." The way the electronic signature works is that when a doctor opens the computer e-file/medical file it automatically generates the electronic signature. Some hospital programs require the doctor to click on a tab to generate the electronic signature. Technically all they have to do when co-signing a PA or NP is just open it, whether they read it or not.

This issue is also,kind of in line with VA Rating Decisions.

Rating decisions have to be signed - but usually whomever signs off on it

gets their name redacted, for their personal protection.
