I have studied the SSA projected loss due to baby boomers retiring. I have found out an interesting fact.
The average person making 88000 or less pays 7.5 percent ssa tax into the fund. Persons making more pay the same amount as the average person. But the total amount is allot less per percentage than the average person. At 88000 the maximum payment into the system is 6600. That is 7.5 percent. If a person makes 350000 They still pay in 6600. They should pay in 26250. They are actually paying 0.075 percent.
Now where is the SSA short.
