Long Waits In Oakland?

I have been waiting for my initial claim for 7 months now. I called the 800 number and it says its at the rating board and its been there since mar 11. Is anyone one else taking forever coming from the Oakland office? Also i heard that i will get back pay from the day i was discharged because i filled within 1 year. Is that right or is it still from the day i started my claim?

Your claim is not that late on the VARO clock. Six months to a year is fairly common. In the past Oakland was considered pretty good as far as VA goes.

My guess 30 to 60 days before you get an answer. Hopefully it will be sooner

BVA referred my CUE claim back to Oakland more than 4 months ago. Have not heard a word. Don't know if they ever recieved it! ~Wings
