Sallie Mae? Somehow that sounds "right". Let me check into that and I'll see what I can find out.

Loan forgiveness does work, as I just had about $15,000 forgiven in January of this year. I first applied in 2005, then again every year, and was denied each time. Some politicians in California finally got wise to the Department of Education and its tricks and passed a law that said if any veteran is declared Total & Permanent, their loan will be forgiven, no questions asked.

Sure enough, the next time I filed, it sailed right through. Good luck!

I keep getting mine sent back to me saying the paperwork is wrong in some way. I am now attempting to get it right for the third time, whats strange is that they claim you need your doctor to fil out their portion of the paperwork, and that is not required anymore per their reg. Go figure.

You gotta make doubly sure and send them a letter from your VARO that states that you are 100% P&T (you can get the letter by calling the VA 1-800 number).
