Bva Decision

Question

I received my decision from the board of veterans appeals yesterday. They granted me service connection for PTSD. Does the paper trail go back to the RO for assignment of disability percentage? I had my teleconference hearing on July 1st and was shocked at the quick decision.

Stever,

Congrats and yes that was very - very fast.

Was your only issue SC for PTSD ?

Was anything remanded ?

Yes, it will now be up to your VARO to assign the percentage and effective date.

Nothing was remanded and the only issue was ptsd for this claim. I also have major depressive disorder that is secondary to my ptsd. I have other issues that I will follow up on.

Great News.

I believe and I could be mistaken that it will go back to the RO for final processing as I don't see the BVA much for doing clerical work as mundane as paying someone.

However I think once an approval is made you probably are looking at weeks instead of months.

First congratulations!

Please tell us on what basis you were originally denied on the claim which you just won at the BVA.

Thanks!

Lack of a clear diagnosis of ptsd. Dr. said I had some symtoms of ptsd but not enough to warrant it. I had major depressive disorder
