I am 100% P&T and VA doctor suggest I be evaluated for PTSD. I really don't want to unless it will increase my monthly check. HATE TO PUT IT THAT WAY, BUT IT IS TRUE.

you don't have to do anything the doc can recommend it and if you do NOT have any mental health ratings now and if you do get a diagnosis of PTSD and they rate you 70% or higher then yes you could be awarded an SMC S award level which would take your monthly check to about 3100 a month

but if it was me and my doc thought I was having severe enough problems that he wanted me evaluated for PTSD and possibly have some coping methods or medication to assist your quality of life then I would want to see if I could possibly have a better quality of life which has been the case for me I am 100% P&T for PTSD and my SSD was based on my cardiac problems and my cardiac issues are secondary to my PTSD the 2 docs work together and my overall health is better now than it was 10 years ago instead of helping other vets all I did was find ways to fight with them I didn't have a "problem" they did my ex wives 4 of them, my ex bosses and my kids caused all my problems I was just "mis understood" by all of them and my drinking only helped me it didn't cause me any problems it was those dang policeman and their stupid DUI tickets that cause me problems

I have been sober for a decade now and life ain't perfect but it is BETTER than it was before I admitted I had issues hell I have lifetime subscriptions unless you want some real help for issues then don't waste the mental health docs time or yours and if money is your only factor then please don't file a claim it means nothing to the VA if you file a claim for PTSD or not the real question is do you have a problem and need help for it?
