Question

Hello everyone,

I have a question I'd like answered if you can. I recently won my case for SC for PTSD through the VBA in July. They recently sent my records back to the RO for write-up. I'm trying to get an indication as to how far back they will go for compensation I'm going to write the statment word for word as it appears on my decision.

The Board acknowledges that the Veteran's claim for service connection for PTSD was readjudicated as an application to reopen a previously denied claim for SC for PTSD in an April 2006 rating desion. However, as the Veteran's September 2006 NOD was received within 1 year of the initial January 2006 denial of his claim for SC for PTSD, the board will adjudicate this claim as a claim for SC, as opposed to an application to reopen a previously denied claim for SC.

When I was denied I did not have a clear DX of PTSD that's why I filed the NOD. It was during the wait time for my hearing that my Dr. finally dX'd me of PTSD in November 2009.

I would appeciate any input you can provide me.

Thanks

Stever
