"in Session Days" Or Calendar Days?

Rate this question

Question

I need clarfication please, in reading the CRA, I read it as the payments will be held up for 60 calendar days and total CRA for the purpose of getting a Resolution to stop the rule (no support for this) is 60 Congressional days or days they are "in session" If they were to call for a vote for a Resolution to stop the rule from going into effect and the resolution was voted down, it would end the CRA period. What about the money being held? The money is already appropriated but being held for 60 calendar days right?

Hello Berta, I refiled for IHD after being denied in 2006, I had C&P last February. Got a letter from VA stating claim was on hold waiting for regs to be finalized. I had a award letter this past July and in the decision part IHD was deferred until regs are final, no letter yet stating I am part of Nehmer ruling.

Also, this past Tuesday I had a appointment to view my C-file at my Regional Office. I received a letter giving the date and time I was to be there. I was NOT allowed to view file! The lady who called me into her office asked me just what did I want to see in my file. I said that I just wanted to look thru file to make sure that all correspondence that I had sent to them was there. Again she asked what specifically did I want to see. I was speechless, I finally told her that I would like to view my SMR's. She said that when the girl that copied records returned to work the next day she would see that they were copied and sent to my mailing address.

Who knows? Seemed strange to me!

This is very encouraging info from you all!!!!

Secretary Shenseki said the backlog will be reduced sooner then later- but the VA expects almost a quarter million new AO claims.

If they do them right -and how hard can that be-with diagnosis confirmed for any new AO, proof of exposure, and recent enough C & P or medical records to rate-it should be a picnic to get these awards done and get compensation checks to these veterans.

I reopened my denied IHD claim of 2001 in Oct of 2009. Had a C&P in early Jan, 2010. Yesterday got the VA Nehmer packet telling me my claim for IHD is under special review inaccordance with Nehmer . They mention my claim of 2001 but also asked for alldependency information dating back to July 30, 1991 to insure potentialpayments are correct. The 1991 date is when I first filed for non SC'd pension. Maybe the VA is going to get this Nehmer thing right after all.
