My doc is only trying to help, but this is not right. I live 80 miles from the VAMC. My doc has recommeded PT for a sc condition. I told him I could not drive that far and take off from work. He has suggested I go to a local PT center and let my insurance pay for it. Does anyone have any better suggestions. I lose either way. I will spend more money letting my insurance pay, but lose less time at work. If I go to the VA clinic I save money and lose time from work. Either way I lose :{

Sometimes you just have to do what is most convenient for you. Forget about the VA take care of yourself first.

You would probably get better PT away from the VA. Driving 80 miles for an hour of PT 3 times a week is going to get old quick.

Ask about the possibility of Fee Basis PT. Maybe you can have it done locally at the VA's nickel.
