navydoc2
I recieved IU in Aug of last year dated back to Feb 09. I am still waiting for decision on reconsideration for SSD.
Sapper
I was granted SSDI this year, on the 1st of this month actually, backdated until July of last year (2009), and after the 5 month file waiting time, it was backpaid from January. Surprisingly I didn't get denied once for SSDI. I consider myself very lucky about this, since I've read a lot of horror stories about their rating boards. I'm still in the TDIU process currently, but getting close to an answer within the next month or two. (I hope!)
HadIt.com Elder jbasser Posted October 21, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 21, 2010 You do not have to have SSDI to get IU. Getting SSDI may sweeten the pot but it is no gurantee. A Veteran can get SSDI for non service connected issues. I got my 100 percent and my SSDI within 3 months of each other. CG, you should have no problems with IU. HadIt.com Elder Josephine Posted October 21, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 21, 2010 I have never drawn SSDI just the 100% Schedular from the VA. Years ago when I tried to apply for SSDI, I was told I did not have enough credits. Some 25 years later they did locate the extra credit for service, but too late for me to file. HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted October 21, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 21, 2010 Josephine: It really is not to late to file if you file using the last day you worked or month. We have seen more than one win with SSD when they use the last month worked as opposed to date they filed. You should see a Lawyer about it
