Question

Hi guys;

I was awarded in 2003 a 20% for my diabetes due to A.O. in 2003, 10% for my left lower extremity and 10% for my right lower extremity for my neouropathy, in 2008. In 2009 10% for my left arm and 10% for my right arm all service connected. I'm getting $845 (including my wife), is that the correct amount? All sums 60% but I'm getting pay for 50%. An I'm wrong in my mathematics? Thxs.

VA MATH SUCKS!:angry: Remember if your condition worsens you might look into presenting another claim too...but if things work out where you are now, don't rock the boat. But you always have that option, as you know.

Your math is off. The VA uses a wacko scale which breaks down like this:

Disabilities: 1. 20% = 20%

2. 10% = 8%

3. 10% = 7.2%

4. 10% = 6.5%

5. 10% = 5.8%

--------------------------------------

Total = 47.5%, the VA then rounds the total up ro 50%

So you are getting the correct amount.

I see here where your math question has been well answered. Many vets will be helped by the VA fuzzy math issue you raised.

I hope you are having a Good Veterans Day in Sunny Puerto Rico, today. It was a three dog night in some areas up here.

Best wishes,

Cmdr Bob

You should be getting bilateral factor for all four limbs. It isn't much really, but it may bump you a little. I have the same thing. You have sensory PN?
