    Have Questions? Get Answers.

Tips on posting on the forums.

    1. Post a clear title like ‘Need help preparing PTSD claim’ or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery instead of ‘I have a question.

    2. Knowledgeable people who don’t have time to read all posts may skip yours if your need isn’t clear in the title.
I don’t read all posts every login and will gravitate towards those I have more info on.

    3. Use paragraphs instead of one massive, rambling introduction or story.

Again – You want to make it easy for others to help. If your question is buried in a monster paragraph, there are fewer who will investigate to dig it out.

    Leading too:

exclamation-point.pngPost straightforward questions and then post background information.

    Examples:

    • Question A. I was previously denied for apnea – Should I refile a claim?
      • Adding Background information in your post will help members understand what information you are looking for so they can assist you in finding it.
Rephrase the question: I was diagnosed with apnea in service and received a CPAP machine, but the claim was denied in 2008. Should I refile?

    • Question B. I may have PTSD- how can I be sure?
      • See how the details below give us a better understanding of what you’re claiming.
Rephrase the question: I was involved in a traumatic incident on base in 1974 and have had nightmares ever since, but I did not go to mental health while enlisted. How can I get help?

This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial of your claim?”

You’ve just been rated 100% disabled by the Veterans Affairs. After the excitement of finally having the rating you deserve wears off, you start asking questions. One of the first questions that you might ask is this: It’s a legitimate question – rare is the Veteran that finds themselves sitting on the couch eating bon-bons … Continue reading

Spinal C & P Exam Worksheet

JuanP

Question

Does anyone have this worksheet, or a copy of it?

The links I have tried are broken, or don't exist..

I have a C & P exam on Monday and I would like to know what to expect.. These are the links that I have tried.

On this page http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/21/Benefits/exams/index.htm I got this

The page cannot be found ( http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/21/Benefits/exams/disexm53.pdf)

It seems like there is a pdf for all the exams except for the spine.

Thanks.

I get the same error as you.

Here are some tips from the main Hadit page. These are very helpful.

Vync, thank you for that. I read it yesterday while looking around. While valuable information, it falls into my personality anyway so it was more or less a reinforcement of my norm, so that is good.

A note to all who read: I am still trying to get this worksheet. So please let me know if you have it or find it. In the mean time I am browsing the other sheets (and saving them to my computer ) to get an idea of how they go about these things. So please, don't assume that maybe I have found this, the stress is setting in and of coarse I waited till the last minute to do a hard research for it. I have two C&P exams this month and thought that the one for my spine would be the second of the two.

Thank you, once again for your help.

Pete,

That is the link for the brain and spinal cord exam. I think Juan is looking for the 's the exam for Spine (Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar) worksheet.

I tried again, but the link is still dead. I remember reading that the VA was going to be updating some C&P exams, but I don't know if this is why the old exam is not posted on their site.

Juan, whats up with the UK picture on your Profile.

You a Fan or what.

The VA is likely working on the site so all exams aren't available.

Let me know and I will tell you what to expect. I been through it a few times.

Thanks gemsurf, I appreciate your efforts.

I did have my C&P yesterday and feel positive about it. Not getting excited as I know it is just another step. But the Dr. did seem to absorb what I had to say. And she communicated well with me.

Get a copy when you can. That could be as exciting as finding a gold nugget, on the other hand it could be as depressing as losing a gold nugget also.
