  • Can a 100 percent Disabled Veteran Work and Earn an Income?

    employment 2.jpeg

You’ve just been rated 100% disabled by the Veterans Affairs. After the excitement of finally having the rating you deserve wears off, you start asking questions. One of the first questions that you might ask is this: It’s a legitimate question – rare is the Veteran that finds themselves sitting on the couch eating bon-bons … Continue reading

Heart And Circulation Issues

Question

My heart doctor indicated that I had the following conditions: Mitral Sclerosis, Enlarged Left Atrium, Diliated Aortic Root, and lack of blood circulation of lower extremities. I have taken an ECHO test during a C&P examination, but have not gotten the results. Could any of this be related to IHD?

Sounds like you have a Valve problem and an Aortic Root problem. I would be real concerned about fixing these problems. Have you ever had Remhmatic Fever?

I dont see this as IHD because it is VAlve Oriented.

J, I don't believe I did, but we never went to the doctor when I was a kid. Castrol Oil was the cure for everything in Harlan County. In fact, I can not recall the first time I ever saw a doctor.

VA's definition of IHD for VA claims purposes in is my Nov 20,2010 post here:

The best person to ask if you ave IHD (who can assess all of your cardio records)- is your doctor.

Papa, Berta is absolutely correct!! Ask your cardio doctor and if he/she says it is ask them to give you a letter as to how.

One question though are you dealing with a VA doctor or private cardio dr? The statement I am about to make I can not proof but I do not trust any VA doctor to back up anything that is going to help a vet!! Now that being said I want you to know I am 100% for my heart and almost died because the VA doc's said I did not have heart disease!

I used a private hospital when I had my heart attack and it was only 30 days after my heart exam by the VA so you can see I am BIAS!

I feel the only way to stay alive if you use the VA docs is to ask question and if you don't like their answers run like hell to a private hospital!!

Good luck to you!

And if this is a private Cardio doctor -have them fill out the IHD new C & P for private doctors here somewhere-and attach this medical statement along with your claim.

    • I would like to meet other Hadit members who live in Michigan.  We have at least two major VA Hospitals (Battle Creek, Ann Arbor).  Or maybe you go to the the John Dingell in Detroit.

I like Ann Arbor.  I like the fact that most of the doctors there are also at the UM Hospital.  I don't like how uickly they seem to turn over though.

    • Really?
I am confused.  A few days ago I spoke to a person at a VARO who said if I die from something other than service-connected my husband gets zero, zilch, squat.  Hmmmmmm, it seems the rules change willy-nilly...I have been rated 100% P & T for over 10 years, MS is static, and I am 56 years of age.

Can a fellow Veteran shed a light on this?

      Thank you.

    • Fund raising for HadIt.com
The site is supported through ads and ad free subscriptions, we are also asking for any support you would like to send our way. You can give a $1 or more it all helps. Keep in mind though that it is NOT tax deductible and we are NOT a non profit. As the site grows so do the costs and ads and subscription do not always keep pace with the costs. Any help is appreciated, but not required.
