Va Disablility Compensation Backpay

I recently (nov. 23) got a letter from my DAV rep. saying that the VA had decided to increase my SC disability rating up tp 50%. I am currently at 30% and was reduced from 40% to 30% in June 2010. I was told by my DAV rep that the VA is in the final processes of finalizing the decision and that two more people needed to sign off on it. My question is does anyone know roughly how long it takes from the DAV letter to the final verification by the VA. I would also like to know if my normal check gets direct deposited will the backpay also get direct deposited? Do I get the backpay as soon as it is finalized or do they send them out like on the first of the month. My finances are extremely tight right now and I am just wondering when I will be getting the backpay.

hmcord,Welcome to Hadit.com .Yes, if you are signed up with VA for direct depositthen the retro comp should come into your account by way of direct deposit.It seems to me it will be a substantial amount being that it requires additional signatures.There really is no accurate answer as to when it will all be finalized.If I were you I would check my bank account every 2 or 3 days to see if a deposit has been made.
