I know everyone says SMC is confusing and I am joining that crowd. Here's my question:

1. I am IU for a single disability; in addition, I am

2. Cystocele/Rectocele - 50%

Depression - 50%

Do my two other disabilities qualify me for 100% + 60% = SMC (s)?

I've seen the question elsewhere but couldn't determine the answer....

Thanks,

Sheila

RDT - not to be argumentative but PTSD rates 70% or 100%. There is no 80% rating for PTSD. You should be eligible for an "s" award. Also, as john999 stated, if you get the ED award, a "k" award goes w/it. The loss of motion I'd CUE, w/hopes of getting 10%, retro 42 yrs, and the same on the scars, depending on how large/painful they are. jmo

pr

I have the following serviced connected / Rated disabilities and want to know if I can receive SMC.

1.PTSD at 80%

2. IHD tied to AO and PTSD at 60%.

Might go to 100% as my recent C&P showed 3-5 METS with unstable angina, dizziness, syncope

3.Lumbrosacral or Cervical Strain at 50%

4.Paralysis of sciatic nerve at 10%

5.Hypertensive vascular disease at 10% / 5 way by-pass

6. Loss of motion ring or little finger at 0% ./ VA operated on my finger when I returned from Vietnam in 1970.

They said they could fix the pip joint and when I woke up they had fussed the bond in a fix position. I have been fighting this rating for 42 years.

7 Scars from wounds at 0%

8. New rating coming of ED

Thanks

Sheila-you might be eligible for SMC S as the Housebound benefit.

(38 USC 1114)

Also you might need to remind VA of Bradley V. Peake decision as it could possibly apply to you if the feel you meet the housebound criteria and request this benefit from the VA.

What was the last date of your award? Did you NOD any part of the award?

john999 - not trying to correct you but I just checked, as I hope to be receiving them soon - "k" award is currently $96 monthly and "s" award is $320 monthly. I expect I'll be receiving both, shortly/eventually and that totals $4992 annually. WOW!!!!!! That's a heck of a raise!

pr

"K" is around 90 dollars and "S" is about 300 dollars. We are not talking about a huge amount of money considering the loss.
