That sounds like one of those vulture companies that tries to get you to give up your annuity for an immediate payout. My insurance company tried to get me do this by offering me a payout on a life time annuity. I would be giving up 150 thousand bucks over a life time to get 50 thousand now. That to me is a bad deal.

Why should a Veteran accept less than full benefits? I think its a dumb idea.

I agree 100% ---- perhaps Filner should willingly give up his salary.

No way should any Veteran accept less than full benefits... It's a dumb idea.

It does sound like a vulture company john999.

I agree with both John999 and VetsLady that no Veteran would accept anything less than full benefits. First off you never know what problems your current disabilities are going to cause you in the future. This from a man who wants to help the veteran just like his Agent Orange Equality Act, introduced it but did nothing.

a vet would have to be crazy to sign this deal as we all know most medical issues get worse over time and to get 30% now at maybe age 25 might sound good but when that issue becomes totally disabling 20-30 years down the road and you can't work anymore they will cram that signed contract down that veterans throat so fast they would be harming themselves and their families to sign off on that type of deal

the sad part is there are many veterans who would do it just to get this claims process over with

Filner should be ashamed of himself
