National Purple Heart Hall Of Fame

My husband received this information in the mail today.

Dear Marines:

I want to take this opportunity to make you aware of the National Purple Heart of

Honor, which is being built in upstate New York. This Hall of Honor will pay tribute to

those who were kille or injured defending this Nation. The National Purple Heart Hall

of Honor is scheduled to open on November 10, 2006. (which happens to be the

Marine Corp Birthday)

All who have earned the Purple Heart shall be afforded a place in the hall. Simply

send a copy of your DD214 to the following address:

It bothers me a little that they are asking for DD 214s (I think their web site said copies are OK)but this is definitely legit as far as I know:

It is a wonderful tribute and the building looks beautiful.

The only thing I don't like about providing my DD214 is that it has you DOB and your SSA number on it. I blacken out the SSA number. Even to a VSO I blacken out the SSA. If they don't like it then refund my 20$. Giving out your SSA and DOB is like handing over your identity.
