Still waiting for the award letter BUT after 2 years of fighting the VA on appeal for my spouse educational benefits under Chapter 35, they finally conceded that Cypert vs. Peake, makes me eligible. Not only am I eligible but so is any spouse that married a veteran after they became 100%, AND the start date is the date of marriage not the date of disability. Yay! Has your veteran parent been rated at 100% or TDIU with Permanent and Total Status by the VA? They send applications for DEA Chapter 35 benefits enclosed with the award letters for 100% or TDIU P & T veterans. Chapter 35 info and discussion is available here under a search.
