Imo For Tdiu From Liscensed Counselor?

Rate this question

Draggin'

Question

Would a letter from a liscensed counselor stating that I am unable to work due to my PTSD and symptoms help my case? Would they want my records from this counselor? I would prefer to not provide them, as my wife and I see this counselor as a couple and do not want the VA scrutinizing or using my wife's past problems as a reason to not grant a claim.

Thanks

Draggin'

I would send it except for "Currently unemployable" statement. It would be better for the doctor to just say "unemployable" but if that is what you have send it. I don't see a GAF. What is his rating at present and what GAF did VA give him. The letter could be much stronger, but you have what you have.

Good luck that is a good medical opinion that you should send in immediately. Good Luck on your claim and thanks for sticking by your Veteran. If he is not working you should also file for Social Security.

He already gets social security. That is another little tid bit that we did not have approved when the info was sent it. (We got it on the first try, I will explain how in another post.) Sending that info about being approved for social security in as well as his doctor's letter and work history. Currently researching info to prove that PTSD is P&T disabling to send with everything.

Thanks for the input.

I am in hopes that the medical issues SS was granted for

are the same medical issues that SC gets granted for.

If they are not then the VA will use the non - SC'd medical reasons

as their support for a denial.

Do I understand that he is being paid comp at the 70% rate?

If so I assume he will be granted TDIU based on what you said here ( make sure VA knows of the SSA award)

and if the TDIU is not rated as P & T by VA, then use some of that TDIU retro to get an IMO that fully rationalizes that he should be P & T.

Maybe a Occupational Specialist would be the best one to do that IMO. Not sure..others will chime in here too.

The P & T rating, as you know, brings great benefits for the families of disabled veterans. I sure know that because I am widow of a P & T vet.

VA paid about 13,000 alone towards my college degree.(Chapter 35 DEA )
