House Committee On Vet Affairs Webcast

Listened to the June 2 House hearing. The VA reps admitted to problems (how could they not!) But failed to really address the causes and possible solutions.

When all is said and done, the VSO reps really pointed out some of the major issues and discussed possible remedies.

The VA seemed to propose grandiose schemes and patches, rather than any real solutions.

What was not said in so many words - -The problems are ultimately a result of the morass of laws and regulations, with a VA attitude that the veterans are trying to "game the system".

Production and quality were discussed. It was mentioned that the VA had a high error rate, and that the accounting for such things was not what it should be.

It was not mentioned that the VA has had a high error rate and poor production for many decades, regardless of the number of claims.

A really good one was a reps pointing out that the VA fails to give "combat" veterans the evidence relaxation that the law requires.

(I have had personal experience with that problem!)

I hear you 'Chuck75'... Ditto.
