Time For Rating For Gws?

Rate this question

Question

It's nearly a year now since IRIS told me that my claim had been received and sent to the rating board, but no action since then.

Is this typical for other people's claims also? Or is mine "stuck" in some way?

Very typical - most claimants are in a holding pattern of waiting.

I called "Peggy" and was told that it just went into rating then was asked if I was boots on ground for Vietnam which I wasn't. Said that was the reason why my DM2 wasn't SC. Went to the Philly VARO and was told by the public contact team that it was at the raters and should be out in the very near future. I had submitted my claim back in Aug 2010. So it takes a while.

Thanks, I suspected that this was the case given that Congress had changed the rules for both Vietnam and Desert Storm at the same time. But you never know until you ask.
