Can a person have PTSD and a TBI?????

RicZ,

Welcome to Hadit.com

To answer your question - Yes and some of the symptoms will be co-morbid.

Also, many times with a diagnosis of both PTSD and TBI - it is found that whatever happened

to cause the TBI - is also the stressor for the PTSD.

Well my appeal has been at the local VA office since May of 2010. Just sitting there is guess hoping i will give up. My VSO keeps saying just be patient but im running low on patience. Im appealing to get my Sleep anea service connected. My issue is while on active duty my sleep studies both said i have severe sleep disturbance but didnt say sleep anea since that would cause me to have to have a MEB. The fix was sleeping pills which i have been on ever since and that was in 1996. Funny though as soon as I retired sleep apnea came right out and i was immedietely put on a CPAP. The VA ia also wanting more evidence that my face was broken, i guess the medical records of me getting blown up in Saudi Arabia wasnt enough.

RicZ,

Sure, a claimant can put in a claim for any issue at any time.

What I have learned for me, personally is, I will no longer submit claims for any issues

while I have issues under appeal.

Many, are of the opinion that it is best to file the claim ASAP in order to establish and perserve an

effective date.

If that works for other's, then I am happy for them.

For me, I prefer to knowingly forgo the effective date on a new issue and wait out the results

of my issue/s on appeal first - before throwing something else into the mix, that will hold up what I

currently have on appeal.

I know it is not SUPPOSED to work that way - but I firmly feel and have personally experienced,

that it does.

IMO -if a claimant wants to throw the breaks onto issues they have under appeal, it is my opinion that all they

need do is to file a claim for additional issue/s.
