Pete

You may have to appeal, but don't get discouraged if you get turned down the first time. The VA should be helping you more than they are considering your wife's condition and your own disabilites. They should not leave housebound vets to fend for themselves. It is good they check up on you but that is not enough.

Pete, you should definitely apply. But I do have a question. Because the VA sends a nurse to take care of you weekly, under what VA sponsored program is that ? Is it something local to your VAMC ?

i have had a nurses aide come to my house 4 days a week, 2 hours a day for over 4 years because i had a&a awarded to my nsc pension. my inflammatory arthritis has deformed my hands, my feet and most of the rest of my body. this is in addition to my worsening back condition of which i have spinal stenosis, foraminal stenosis, a slipped vertabrae, bulging discs, osteo arthritis and scoliosis. i was recently awarded iu and today i applied for smc a&a. the program i qualified under is called home health care, i believe.
