I am currently taking the following meds and I feel this is to much crap for one person to take every day or as needed. For me as needed mean 4-5 days a week. The one pill that I am concerned about is MS Contin in which I was put on it after taking Exalgo for over two years and now I became allergic to it.

MS Contin- daily

Zolft - daily

Colozapam - daily

Vesicare - daily

Nexium - daily

HBP med - daily

Cholesteral med - daily

Cialis - as needed

Levaquin - daily

Nuvigil - as needed after taking MS contin ( mornings)

I am 100% Sc however I am afraid to file for P and T because I don't want them to mess with my benefits. I just applied for the Homecare Giver program benefits because my wife cannot work, take care of me and our four small children. I attend college one day a week to get out the house and stay active however I am rapidly going down hill fast. I have OAB and I cannot make it to the latrine sometimes and my wife must, you know. My Pain management doc said that all the meds are fine and its just something I am going to have to live with. What do you'll think?

Many of us never took meds till we went to VA. I have my Doc review my medications annually see if there is something that may work better or maybe a possible reduction in dosage or elimination. Some meds will treat for more than one condition.

Also every VA has a Medication expert that is either assigned to your clinic or available for consult with pharmacy. Keep in mind the VA does not mind prescribing meds in lieu of office visits and actual contact with a human being but the fact is they always start with cheap meds instead of newer ones.

Good Luck
