I've been getting the security message at eBenefits showing that the certificate is expired and I should close my browser. Being concerned about this, I sent a message to the website admins. Unfortunately I couldn't get it to send from the correct place so I had to send it from the comments which will probably be ignored.
Since then, I discovered at the US Army website there's a fix for this and I thought I would pass this on. After installing the file "InstallRoot_v3.15A.exe", which I downloaded from that website, I no longer have this problem. You can find this fix at the following website:
http://militarycac.com/dodcerts.htm
Follow the directions on this page. I had to download the zip file then unzip and install because the other one didn't work. This problem apparently is not with the eBenefits website at all. As usual, it's an Internet Explorer 8 and 9 issue. Good old Microsoft.
I always worry about security because I've been hacked several times.
