ptsd Another C&p For Ptsd

Received in the mail today a letter to report to Tampa VA for Mental C&P exams for May 18, 19, and 22nd. Why would they send me when I just had my C &P in November 2011 and was award March 2012 PTSD 50% I haven't asked for a increase. Is it possible that my physc doctor recommended it since I am not getting better? Thoughts anyone? I go to group treatment every week and one on one counseling.

Could be. They could also be considering a reduction or an increase, especially since it's a 3 day exam. Have you applied for Voc Rehab?? Since they seem to be working to reduce the backup, they may be looking to correct you rating. We'd need more info, to offer an informed opinion, on your question. jmo

Funny you asked, I did apply for Voc rehab last week. Can they request another C&P exam? The counselor gave me a psychiatric information request to be signed by my doctor stating if i am able to work and what my treatment consist of. I don't see my psych doc until the 11th. I would think that he would state that I am currently unemployable.

I have had many C&P exams at the Tampa VAMC. I don't know what they are up to with the three day exam. Do you want to be rehabilitated? I never got a good psychiatric exam at the Tampa VAMC in 30 years. I had c&p exams that lasted ten minutes.

Sorry to confuse everyone, I only have an C&P appt for mental health one day and the two other days are for gulf war illness exams. I thought it was weird to have 3 days of C&P exams for mental health. Anyways, this is my chance to get a higher rating for Current 50% PTSD rating.
