Gi Bill Students Trying To Beat The System.

Some students are going to college on GI Bill are abusing the system. Others are getting harassed for their Military Service and Benefits.

I applied for the Post 9/11 months ago, am attending part-time and have confirmation and still can't get the snail to move.

Why should we be suprised? The VA thinks all Vets are liars, druggies, alcoholics or worse. They dont beleive a word we say and make us proove everything before we get a nickel. IRS mails out money in 2 weeks or less without proof with a completed tax return. Its not enough to prove military service, we are expected to proove military records when it is usually the VA that lost or shredded them.

So, they communicate that to the public, blaming Vets for the backlog, delays etc.

The VA thinks we are too stupid to fill out a form and hires VSO's to "help" us.

They think we cant read our own medical records and repeatedly deny us saying "evidence not in the file" when we know it is.

I know one thing. That is that I dropped a class in1975. The VA hounded me for $200.00 for a couple years. I finally paid it. I finished my degree, but they did not trust that I would do that. I asked them for forgiveness of the debt, because I had to quit school for a year because of Alcoholism problems. They would not forgive it, and hounded me monthly.

They will spend a thousand dollars to get back one hundred.
