    Tips on posting on the forums.

    1. Post a clear title like ‘Need help preparing PTSD claim’ or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery” instead of ‘I have a question.
       
    2. Knowledgeable people who don’t have time to read all posts may skip yours if your need isn’t clear in the title.
      I don’t read all posts every login and will gravitate towards those I have more info on.
       
    3. Use paragraphs instead of one massive, rambling introduction or story.
       
      Again – You want to make it easy for others to help. If your question is buried in a monster paragraph, there are fewer who will investigate to dig it out.
     
    Leading too:

    Examples:
     
    • Question A. I was previously denied for apnea – Should I refile a claim?
      • Adding Background information in your post will help members understand what information you are looking for so they can assist you in finding it.
    Rephrase the question: I was diagnosed with apnea in service and received a CPAP machine, but the claim was denied in 2008. Should I refile?
     
    • Question B. I may have PTSD- how can I be sure?
      • See how the details below give us a better understanding of what you’re claiming.
    Rephrase the question: I was involved in a traumatic incident on base in 1974 and have had nightmares ever since, but I did not go to mental health while enlisted. How can I get help?
     
    This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial of your claim?”

yes you can get CAD/IHD etc to MDD or PTSD etc as a secondary condition, I did it back in 2009 but you can not send in that study as a basis for your claim or as justification, you still need YOUR doctor to write a nexus letter showing how YOUR CAD/IHD was caused by your MDD or if you are already SC for MDD how it caused or aggravated your CAD/IHD you still have to show how your problems pertain only to you, I was initially rated at 60% for IHD this year they raised me to 100% for CAD this was after another heart attack that dropped my ejection fraction to 15% and the VA implanted a pacemaker/defibrilator the only thing I am waiting on now is the A&A claim that was deferred and they did the C&P 2 weeks ago

I also spent Thanksgiving week in the VA for a bout with CHF they had me hooked up to a heart monitor and IV lasix they served a GREAT meal down to shrimp cocktails with large shrimp I was impressed and the food was good they sent me home Fri afternoon.

Yes this type of claim can be won but the Regional office usually will not grant it you have to appeal to the BVA that is my experience with it
