Tdiu Deferred For Receiving Ssdi

Rate this question

Question

I was awarded 70% SC yesterday (one battle finally won), and the award letter states:

We deferred entitlement to the 100% rate (IU) because you are receiving Social Security Disability benefitis (sic) and we need your records from the social security administration. We will obtain these records for you.

That's all it says about it.

I never filled out the form for IU, and this was on there anyway. Do I need to fill the form out? Does anyone know what records they are getting from the SSA, and how they will affect IU?

I was granted 70% for Shizoaffective disorder claimed as PTSD. Does this just mean that I claimed for PTSD, and they found something else?

I receive SSDI benefits, also for Shizoaffective disorder.

I'm just really scared, stressed out and drained. I thought I was going to be able to take my head off a swivel after my award and spend more time attempting to be happy so my wife wouldn't be so stressed out and worried about me. I could really use some answers/support.

Thanks in advance.

Get the SSDI records yourself and submit them along with TDIU official application. You could be waiting for years for the VA to get your SSDI records.

Is this the form I need to fill out to get my records? http://www.ssa.gov/online/ssa-3288.pdf

They kind of make it sound like this is what you fill out to get records to other people, but I can't find any other forms googling.

I think that form will get you your SSD records. I submitted mine, but just the part that said I was accepted for SSDI and my DX. I did not sent them the whole file.

My SSDI Letter of Approval states that the Hearing Officer gives the greatest weight from my (VA) Psychiatrist that the claimant has poor or no ability to preform most of the basic mental activities of work. The undersigned concludes that the claimant is disabled based on his mental impairments alone with no need to discuss his physical impairments. While this does not come right out and say it's based on PTSD am I to assume (yes I know) that it is one and the same? It does state that the claimant has a long history of PTSD related to his combat experience in Vietnam. Then restates the conditions of PTSD inclusive earlier in the write up.. I hand carried this information to my Regional Office and had it date/time stamped. As I've stated on this forum else where the examining Psychiatrist (C&P) was told to write his opinion and not to call me back for another examination. His letter,as I've said, could not have been better written if I had done it myself. Sorry I am repeating myself , there is a question here.

I'm sorry. I did ask a question in the above in bold. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you!
