Question

I am a member of Hadit.com and VBN. I am not sure if this is acceptable, but I am going to try this anyway.

My son Jonathan was a Navy Corpsman during the Persian Gulf War. He suffered from PTSD and other medical issues. On Saturday December 21, 20013, he took his life. He left behind a wife and two children. I am going to post a site to donate to his Children's Fund. If anyone has any questions, please contact me at cpspat@att.net and I will address any concerns you may have. I assure you this is worthly and legitmate cause.

That is such sad and devastating news.

I am so sorry for this family.

The wife said in the link that he was continually denied by VA for PTSD and Gulf War syndrome.

As he had been a Navy Corpsman ,in country PGW, I was very surprised to learn he had been denied for PTSD.

If he had a VA claim pending at death , perhaps the wife could substitute herself as the claimant and pursue it for accrued benefits.

I hate to even suggest something like that here, with this death happening so suddenly, but we could try to help her here if she joins when she is able to.

She should also check in with the SSA, perhaps there is a local office she could call, to see if she and her children are eligible for Survivor's benefits from Social Security.
