Tdiu Question

Question

If I am rated the followind would this be sufficient to meet tdiu reqirements?

50% hearing loss

10% tinitus ringing of ears

10% depression secondary to hearing loss

60% combined

You can always apply for TDIU, but I don't think there is enough for you to apply. You should put in an FDC for an increase if these conditions have worsened since your last rating. Then, if they go up, you can go from there. Good luck and keep us posted bud.

Just take a few weeks off then, and try to figure out what you want to do. We all need to take a little time for ourselves every now and then bud. Good luck

I will be unemployed in aprox. 45 days. No new job lined up as of yet. I will collect unemployment for a year.

 

Here's the problem.

If you're collecting unemployment then you MUST be looking for and available for work. If you're seeking TDIU you are stating you CAN'T work.

If you're doing both you're lying to one Government agency.

TDIU is not unemployment. Just because you're going to be unemployed doesn't make you unemployable. I worked with people in the Postal Service that were totally deaf. Unemployability for a hearing loss might be hard to prove.
