In Need Of Dro Job Discription

Question

Greetings,

I am trying to help another vet with his claims. The DRO is refusing to use edivence on 2 C&P exams performed by 2 specialists at a VAMC which gave their opinions that were greatly on the side of the veteran, now the DRO wants another C&P exam for the same condition. (The multiple C&P exams were done less then 6 months ago).

I am concerned the DRO has no clue what he or she is doing and if he goes back for yet another C&P exam for the same issue who knows whom he will get (General MD, PA or God forbid a N.P.) I am going to try and challenge this DRO. The veteran in question has many service related issues that make it extremely hard for him to get out of his home. The closest VAMC to us is over 70 miles. Can any one help me with some CFR regs? I have a few in mind, but need some guidence. Thank you and God Bless you all.

Hi Bound4Heaven,

Love your name!! Mr. Cooper is the Honorable Daniel Cooper, Under Secretary for Veterans Benefits and his telephone number is private, but I got it and he has helped me greatly.

Just call this telephone number amd ask to speak to his private secretary. Explain to her your situation.

Telephone number is 1-202-273-6763

Fax Number - - 202 - 275 - 3591.

Be sure to check with his secretary if a 1 goes before the fax number.

I am sure that he will be able to help this veteran. He is very kind, but does insist upon being addressed as Honorable Cooper

Often you will have to educate the DRO, since there's a lot of unwrittenn VA laws that DRO's will try to apply against you. I love to do this, since I will never pass up an opportunity to take another bite at the apple.

Greetings,

Thank you both for your response. The veteran in question as agreed to take the C&P exam in question. The VARO scared him greatly. He is 74 years old. He is rated at 100%T&P SMC the same as I. My wife is going to drive us down to be there for his C&P. I cannot understand the VARO in this issue. I call the 800 number and I get is confusion. God is in control. For he is God and I am just a man. God bless you all and thank you for all your help with this issue. (Thanks Berta once again).

Bound, call the VA hospital where the vet is going to be examined. Or have the Veteran do it. Ask for the C@P clinic or dept. Be nice to them and explain that the Vet is a little confused. Ask them what the Exam is for?. The people are usually very nice and will help.
