Pete

Last time I had it checked by VA my fasting glucose level was 147. I don't know the other number you referred to but I know what it means.

147 is not really all that high. You probably need to ask for an A1C which gives an average for about three months and is used to diagnose diabetes. Its a simple blood draw and they can give the results in a couple of hours.

Good Luck

John- if you have additional disabilities due to the DMII-

vision, heart, ED, cerebral problems, hyperlipedemia, etc- anything with VA 's training letter posted above-

then you have additional SCable disabilities.

Perhaps at this point you have been fortunate not to have complications.

Still- if those high glucose readings appeared long before the diagnosis-

and you can prove it-

particularily if a HBIac test was abnormal or a FGT

Fasting Glucose Test showed anything over 126-

You have a good Sec 1151 claim-

The VA and the American Diabetes Assoc consider anything over 126 in a fasting glucose state as diabetes.
