Is an Agent Orange disability considered a combat related injury? I know it is considered an instrumentality of war for the purpose of concurrent receipt for 20 year retired disabled vets. If I was not in Vietnam I would not have been exposed to AO in all probability.

If you are service connected for an Agent Orange related disability, you may be eligible for Combat-Related Special Compensation, which is different from Concurrent Retired and Disability Pay. If you have a 50% total VA rating of which 30% is AO related then DoD will pay back the 30% in your retired pay check tax-free, which is now offset. You will need to sit down and do the math to figure out which is to your advantage, CRSC or CRDP. Visit https://www.hrc.army.mil/site/crsc/ and http://www.dod.mil/dfas/retiredpay/concurrentretirementanddisabilitypay.html for details.
